New Features
- Glitch words - Any word in a post can glitch: in colour, as a link, blinking, or with a letter censored by the star, as in D✳CK PITCH. They were built for Kagurame Sbozh, the storytelling voice of this blog. Mostly Russian and Ukrainian, mostly things HR would rather not read.
- Window ON/OFF - A button in the post, or the
Wkey, closes the window: every glitch goes quiet and the post reads like a polite corporate post. A video in the post switches to its matching cut without losing its place. - Release notes glitch too - The same syntax works in release notes, on the home page, in the releases list, on each release page and in "Load more". This note has its own switch:
- Previous and next post - Blog posts no longer end in a dead end. Arrows in the header show a preview card on hover, and full cards with thumbnails sit at the bottom. They follow publish date unless I pick the next post myself in the CMS, for a series or a follow-up that went out late.
Changes
- Table of contents - Built from the headings as they appear on the page, so glitch words read as words, every entry jumps to the right place, and a third heading level shows up.
- CV refresh, closed out - 1.6.0 added no code of its own. It wraps the nine 1.5.x patches into one milestone: the paper-white CV with a matching PDF, the two corner QR codes, the reworked content, photo credits and seekable video on the blog.
Behind the scenes
- Lighter previews - Post cards and previews load small, downscaled thumbnails instead of full-size images.
- Video loops - A small ffmpeg pipeline cuts the glitch-caption loops that go with Kagurame's posts, landscape or YouTube Shorts, including one where onboarded flips mid-caption. A new
Videoblock drops a single silent loop into a post or a release note.
1.6.0 closed the CV refresh, 1.6.1 shipped the pieces, 1.7.0 gives them a name, and it is live now. Close the window if you came for a changelog, keep it open if you came for Kagurame. Next up is 1.8.0: internal link handling, link hover cards from the CMS, blog filters and connected posts. Then Personas in 1.9.0.
