Aintter: Let it be the word for "AI writer"
I directed a techno-thriller story and had a conversation about it with my friend. Now I'm setting definitions
You can be a lover or a fighter, whatever you desire
Life is like a runaway and you're a designer.
Wings of the butterfly, eyes of the tiger (oh, oh, ooh).
Whatever you want baby, choose you fighter.
- Ava Max ♩ ♪ ♫ ♬ (Choose your fighter)
First of all - I'm writing this post with my bare fingers. Typing aggressively on my loudly clicking mechanical keyboard with red highlighting. Do I need to explain why it's red? For those who don't know - DA RED WUNZ GOS FASTA!
Second of all - This is a pure act of art. And that's why now you have to step back and watch this masterpiece.
Completely optional, but it's like eating steak without a chef's sauce. Don't be greedy with your 137 seconds of life, gift it to me for the sake of true art!
There is no AI to tell me that I should not treat my readers with begging for attention...
Enjoy.
Speaking on the topic
Today I got pissed off, and that is why I like to talk to my friend. He has a sharp opinion on everything and he explains things really well. A few times I even pretend I understood what he said.
To avoid the confusion of reading = this is how we talk. There's no offense, but a lot of sharp hidden jokes. To clarify that I'm not dishonoring him - I meant his perfect English which is much better than mine.
But this post isn't about praising him.
This persona is about putting memorable things that happened during my (or yours, who knows) sbozh.me journey.
My(?) Techno-thriller story
Here comes the whole argument, and the moment I want to remember:
I've created a story piece, and I'm really proud of the result.
When I started sbozh.me I already knew that something like this is going to be shipped.
I've played a lot with AI and knew it was good with applying different styles on text while saving the meaning (what a surprise, right?). With human polishing - it transforms to an interesting story to read. At least this is how my(?) story appears to me.
I didn't really check if there is already content like this or not, I'm not claiming the authenticity of the idea. I just noticed that I like the process of crafting it.
And there is going to be more content like that.
(?) - Why I'm using this.
This paragraph should also contain "I won't anymore". But I'm not sure about the length and because I'm not using AI - you have to read my justifications. Cool right?
But at the same time I'm not mentioning AI here without a reason.
And my reason is, unfortunately - Hate.
People like my friend hate AI and I can understand it, and on some sources of this hate I completely agree.
The key point here - I was so proud of myself that I finally become a "Writer", so I forgot whom I was speaking to and got completely destroyed:
-
You didn't write it, man.
-
Do you know what is authenticity? Let me explain the meaning of this word
-
By the way, I'm taking my 3D printer with me for authenticity.
And I can do much more quotes, I believe the point is delivered.
This kind of people read a lot of books, creating things with their hands, designing tools on their own.
And I assume this hate is driven by the fear of the future. Not how this AI tool will evolve, but how kids will get completely creatively stunted because of our comfort. And it's fair point. What is not fair for me - that my effort of creating was completely demolished because I didn't type every letter on my own.
And here, folks, the example of how I'm approaching critics:
Who is Aintter?
The etymology is super obvious and simple: AI + writer = Aintter.
Additional "nt" stands for "not traditional".
Also it creates 2 additional words with keeping "ter" from "writer".
Ain't
Think of the typical AI phrasing: "It's not just X, but also Y". For me it's beautiful because it admits that you "Ain't a writer" in the word itself.
Int
Like a short form of intel. AI is generating thoughts from different angles that you can take as intelligence for your craft.
All these three words together form exactly what you do, and who you are and who you aren't.
As AI would generate here:
As a chef's kiss — AI at the beginning of the word is not just obvious
— It's a pure art of a genius.
- Typical LLM phrase you spot everywhere these days
#AINTTER if you got sbozhed
By the definition - "Sbozhed" - it's a moment when your thinking shifts after you realize the intentional details behind a piece of craft.
For the sake of fun let's start an Aintzer Prize? And for the sake of building in public - until the end of the year I will figure out how to organize voting.
I'm starting Substack account.
The Aintzer Prize will be every 17th of December and the prize pool will be generated from 20% of my annual income from Substack + donations.
